CDG Consultant to Deliver Address at S1000D World Conference

Welwyn Garden City, UK – Nov. 5, 2010 - CDG, a Boeing company, is pleased to announce that Mr. Ian Proctor, CDG Technical Publications Consultant will be a guest speaker at the S1000D World 2010 conference. The event is scheduled for November 8-9 at the Park Hotel Westfalenhallen in Dortmund, Germany.

Mr Proctor’s presentation is entitled “The Business Rules Creation Process”. The presentation will provide an overview of the creation of S1000D Business Rules and the challenges that creation process presents.  The presentation will outline a framework for building the business rules, discuss when to use business rules, and cover some of the pitfalls and challenges faced when creating S1000D business rules. Mr Proctor is a member of S1000D Electronic Publications Working Group (EPWG), the UK S1000D Working Group, the lead of the S1000D Multimedia Task Team, and a member of several other S1000D task teams. He has led S1000D production for a number of projects and has participated in the development of the business rules for several of those projects. Mr. Proctor is also a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

The S1000D World 2010 conference is hosted by the Technical Documentation World, an independent networking group aimed to ensure that S1000D is relevant and applicable in today’s fast changing environment. The conference will include presentations on topics such as Business Rules – Implementation and Enforcing, Simplified Technical English, Converting Legacy Data, S3000L, and guidance on using the S1000D Process Modules and deploying them in an IETM. The delegates of the conference will receive a good overview of the current S1000D issues facing their organizations.
